Scott Askew

Scott Askew was born and raised in Beaufort County, North Carolina and has lived there most of his life. He graduated from Terra Ceia Christian School in 1992 and then attended both ECU, and Beaufort County Community College before enrolling in Roanoke Bible College (now Mid-Atlantic Christian University) in the spring on 1996. He entered ministry soon after, leaving school and working as a SCUBA divemaster, swimming instructor and lifeguard for BCCC while serving his home congregation, Long Acre Chapel Christian Church. In 2000, Scott went back to Roanoke Bible College and there met Stephanie Edwards from Mechanicsville, VA. They married in 2002. Scott went into full time ministry, preaching at Mt. Olive church of Christ in Ponzer, NC and served at Union Grove Church of Christ for over thirteen years. While working full time at UGCC, Scott finished up his schooling at Mid-Atlantic, commuting to classes for two years while maintainging a high GPA, and receiving the school’s Timothy Award for preaching. He graduated in 2008.

Scott and Stephanie have two fabulous children, Libby and Aaron.

Scott loves Duke basketball and St. Louis Cardinals baseball. He loves to fish and will read almost anything he can get his hands on. Above all else, Scott’s true desire is to see people come to Christ and be disciples of Him. Scott loves preaching, teaching and studying God’s word.

Scott’s office hours are Sun 3-7, Monday 12-3, Tuesday 9-12, and Thursdays 1-4. His office is located upstairs in the youth building. Feel free to call during his office hours.
