CHILDREN'S MINISTRY DIRECTOR

Duties and Responsibilities

The CM Director is responsible to the Lead Minister for overseeing the planning, coordinating, and implementing of programs and special events for children from birth through fifth grade. As Broad Creek Christian Church is in a transitioning period focused on growth (both spiritually and numerically), the CM Director's primary responsibility will be the new development and deployment of a holistic program for children ages birth - 5th grade. The CM Director will champion the vision & mission of BCCC as it relates to the children’s ministry. That will include a minimum of the following:

  • Work with lead minister and key leaders in casting a vision specifically for the Children’s Ministry which includes Sunday morning programming and special events.

  • Recruiting and training CM team members and empowering them for service.

  • Planning and executing special events to capture the attention of children and families in order to introduce them to BCCC.

  • Follow-up with new families that have checked their children into our programming.

  • Assist in the development of an assimilation strategy for new families with children in the CM.

  • Maintain database records for CM families.

  • Assist in planning and maintaining the annual CM budget.

  • Cooperate with local and state leaders in promoting activities of mutual interest in the community.

  • Attend a yearly training event of your choosing that is approved by the Lead Minister.

  • Create environments that are attractive and conducive to appropriate children's age groups.

  • Comply with state and local laws concerning suspected abuse of children

Qualifications

  • Professed Christian

  • Member of Broad Creek Christian Church

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products and basic computing skills

  • Ability to recruit and organize ministry volunteers

  • Skilled in conflict resolution to promote peace

  • Able to maintain a good working relationship with the Lead Minister, Elders, other staff, and members

  • Have current background check

OFFICE MANAGER

Position Description:

Supervisor: Lead Minister

Pay: $12 per hour

Part Time Position: Approximately 20 hours per week

Duties and responsibilities:

This part-time position is responsible to the Lead Minister for administering the business affairs of the church, and working with members and staff to achieve the objectives of the church. These duties include:

  • Daily management of the church office, which includes: sorting and dispensing of emails, mail, and phone calls

  • Track weekly Sunday service attendance, baptisms, new members, marriages, deaths, etc. as requested by the Lead Minister

  • Email weekly prayer requests and announcements

  • Maintain and distribute as needed Seat Back Connect cards in Worship Center

  • Create video announcements for Sunday mornings

  • Coordinate purchase of supplies needed for the office and weekly worship services

  • Ensure the Worship Center and Youth Center are presentable each week

  • Maintain calendar of events and facilities use

  • Maintain the church website and Facebook page and/or other social media sites

  • Create and distribute a quarterly giving report from the Elexio Database

  • Maintain discretion and confidentiality with sensitive information that will be handled by the church office and staff

  • Perform other tasks as requested by the Lead Minister and/or Leadership Team (elders, ministers)

Qualifications:

  • Professed Christian

  • Prefer a member or regular attendee of Broad Creek Christian Church

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products

  • Experience with graphic design a plus

  • Able to maintain confidentiality

  • Positive, welcoming personality

  • Able to maintain a good working relationship with the Lead Minister, Elders, other staff, and members

  • Proficient with use of social media
